Silure Record
France's heaviest freshwater fish is a Silure that was fished in July 2005 in the Gard department by Julien Edet. It is the heaviest French freshwater fish ever fished with 106 kg (233 lbs.). It was 2.41 meters long and had a waist size of 1.18 meters.

Carp Record
France record for carp fishing happened in November 2005 at the Rainbow Lake (Lac de Curton, south of Bordeaux) with a 38kg catch (83lbs.), beating the previous record of a 75lbs 11oz carp fished by Leo van der Gugten at the St. Cassien Lake in May 21, 1987.

Brochet Record
The French fishing record for a Pike happened in 2006. It was a 128 cm long fish, and it weighted 16 kg (36lbs.). These figures are quite impressive when the average weight for that kind of fish is between 2.7 and 4 kg (6 to 9 lbs.).
